Tip: How to update to the latest code revision of the WordPress version
Sometimes I add new code to the current WordPress version download even though it is still version XXX

Here is how you can use it today if you do not want to wait for a new version:
On the WordPress plugins admin page, find “Fast Secure Contact Form” and click “Deactivate”.
When the plugin is deactivated, the forms and settings are still saved in the database.
DO NOT click “Delete” or your forms WILL BE DELETED!

Use a FTP program such as FileZilla to connect to your web server.
Delete this folder from your server: /si-contact-form/
You can find it inside /wp-content/plugins/

Now perform the Automatic or Manual Upgrade:

Automatic upgrade:
On the plugins admin page, click “Add new”
Search for “Fast Secure Contact Form”
Once you find it, click “Install Now”.
After it installs, click “Activate Plugin”.
The plugin will now be activated.
Upgrade complete, now you can enjoy any new features or fixes I most recently added.

Manual upgrade:
Download the “Fast Secure Contact Form” zip file:
http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/si-contact-form.zip
Unzip the file on your computer.
FTP File Transfer this folder: /si-contact-form/ from your downloaded
files to the folder on your server: /wp-content/plugins/
On the plugins admin page, find “Fast Secure Contact Form” and click “Activate”.
The plugin will now be activated.
Upgrade complete, now you can enjoy any new features or fixes I most recently added.

How to do this without using any FTP

Step 1)
Backup ALL your forms from the form edit page on the Tools tab.

The ‘Backup Settings’ tool is on the Tools tab. This tool can save a backup of all your forms and settings. Here is how to backup: Select a form to backup: (choices are: All Forms, Form 1, Form 2, etc), I suggest selecting ‘All Forms’, then click the ‘Backup Settings’ button. This will generate a file download that you save on your computer. The file will be a text file named like this: “contact-form-backup-all.txt”. That is your backup file, keep it in a safe place in case you want to restore it someday.

Step 2)
Make sure step 1 is complete, and you have saved your downloaded backup file where you can find it.

Step 3)
On the WordPress admin page, click Plugins, find “Fast Secure Contact Form” and click “Deactivate”.
Now also click “Delete”, click the button “Yes, Delete these files and data” your forms WILL BE DELETED, but you have the backup, so it is OK, you can restore them after the re-install.

Step 4)
Automatic upgrade:
On the plugins admin page, click “Add new”
Search for “Fast Secure Contact Form”
Once you find it, click “Install Now”.
After it installs, click “Activate Plugin”.
The plugin will now be activated.
Upgrade complete, now you can restore your forms.

Step 5)
Restore
Go to the Fast Secure Contact Form edit settings page,
The ‘Restore Settings’ tool is on the Tools tab. This tool can restore a backup of your contact form settings. Here is how to restore: Select a form to restore: select ‘All Forms’ then click “Browse” to upload your backup file. This opens a window where you select the file you have previously saved (ie: “contact-form-backup-all.txt”), once the file is selected, then you click “open”, now the file is selected on the Restore form, then you click the Restore Settings button. The file is uploaded and your form is restored.
